I have been fishing Lake Superior since before I could walk and have never stopped fishing it. I grew up in the port city of Duluth, Minnesota, but moved away for college to attend Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan.
While pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, I made as much time to spend out on the lake and in the woods as possible. This was the chance to fish and explore Lake Superior from a new perspective!
On an ice fishing trip a few months before I was set to graduate (2012), I had a nearly fatal run in with a snowmobile: I was left stranded on the ice with two broken legs. Since that accident, I have taken a new meaning to life. I have decided to follow my passions, and fishing is one of them.
Superior Pursuits is my opportunity to share my love of fishing and an appreciation for the great natural resources we have on hand around the Great Lakes.
I want Superior Pursuits to not only to be a first-class fishing guide service, but an account of my adventures as I explore the best places to fish and hunt in the USA. Whether you just use some tips and tricks from my blog or you book an unforgettable trip aboard the Superior Pursuit, I can’t wait to share what I know with you .
Superior Pursuits has up-to-date information about fishing tactics for the Great Lakes, Midwest and surrounding area. As a Captain, I am always doing research and testing out new ways to target Lake Trout, Salmon, Steelhead, Brown-trout, Walleye, and Muskie. I’m always looking to add to my knowledge, but also to find new ways to enjoy the great fishery the Great Lakes offer. I have fished 3 of the 5 Great Lakes (Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, and Lake Huron), and intend to fish all 5.
I love fishing and want to share this passion with you, climb aboard The Superior Pursuit this summer in Duluth, MN.
